During his tenure at Georgia Cancer Specialists, Gilmore increased growth in drug budget tenfold, developed a data mining program resulting in the generation of a seven-figure annual revenue stream, and helped to more than double the size of the practice. He also oversaw the development of numerous new service lines including echocardiography, CT/PET, hematopathology laboratory services, and interventional radiology. Under his leadership and guidance, Georgia Cancer Specialists was one of the first practices in the country to integrate retail pharmacy services.

After earning his PharmD degree from Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy, Gilmore received advanced clinical training from Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta. He began his career as a clinical pharmacist then transitioned into oncology program administration, as well as managing large clinical research, imaging and data mining programs.

Heavily involved in national oncology and pharmacy organizations, Gilmore is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology, National Community Oncology Dispensing Association, Inc.’s (NCODA) Executive Counsel, ION’s SON Advisory Panel and Precision Medicine Advisory Panel, and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is a reviewer for Community Oncology and Advances in Therapy, and has co-authored over 65 published articles, abstracts, and book chapters.

Fort Myers, Fla., June 1, 2021 – Drs. George Negrea and Jennifer Yannucci of Low Country Cancer Care (LCCC) welcome Hematologist/Oncologist Lindsay Caldwell, DO to the community oncology practice. LCCC, an American Oncology Network (AON) partner, has three office locations in Georgia and one office location in South Carolina. Dr. Caldwell is seeing patients in Savannah at 4700 Waters Ave., Suite 201 and in Pooler at 1000 Towne Center Blvd., Building 700, Suite 704.

Dr. Caldwell obtained her medical education from Kansas City University of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals in New York. She then completed her fellowship training in medical oncology and hematology at Northwell Health-North Shore and Long Island Jewish University Hospitals.

Dr. Caldwell is Board certified in medical oncology and hematology. She has broad experience with all types of solid tumors, hematologic malignancies and benign hematologic conditions.

American Oncology Network Strengthens Team with Key Leadership Appointments

National community oncology network appoints Chief Growth & Relationship Officer and Vice President of Laboratory Services

Fort Myers, Fla., May 6, 2021 – American Oncology Network, LLC (AON), a high-growth medical oncology provider with a focus on supporting the long-term viability of oncology treatment in community-based settings, recently announced two key leadership appointments. Longtime marketing and sales executive Shelly Glenn has been named Chief Growth & Relationship Officer and laboratory management expert Curtiss McNair has come on as Vice President of Laboratory Services.

In this newly created role, Glenn will be responsible for driving a collaborative approach with AON management and practice leadership to ensure the organization continues to create and deliver differentiated services and capabilities, as well as gain market leadership. Glenn will oversee referral base management and physician recruitment, as well as foster deeper relationships and better engagement within the communities AON and its practices serve as well as within the organization.

Prior to joining AON, Glenn was the Chief Development & Community Partnership Officer at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS), where she played a key role in bringing the organization to the forefront of community oncology. She oversaw critical growth initiatives as well as efforts to strengthen patient advocacy and community partnerships. Glenn received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Lehigh University, as well as a Global Leadership designation from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Dedicated to increasing cancer awareness and education, she currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Suncoast Chapter, American Cancer Society’s CEOs Against Cancer, the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation Board and as the Marketing Chair for the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO).

McNair will oversee AON’s laboratory and pathology services. McNair comes to AON from BayCare Health System in Tampa, Fla., where he served as the East Division Laboratory Director managing the inpatient, outpatient, and outreach testing for nine hospitals consisting of two women’s hospitals and a children’s hospital. He began his laboratory career while serving in the U.S. Army as a Medical Laboratory Specialist. He has also worked in other roles as Manager of Laboratory Quality and Point of Care Testing at United Memorial Medical Center and as a Senior Laboratory Manager at DaVita Labs in Deland, Fla. McNair received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Victory University, Memphis, Tenn., a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Piedmont International University, Winston Salem, N.C., an MBA from Ashford University and is currently a second-year Doctoral student at Carolina University specializing in Organizational Leadership.

Goldstein of The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD) welcome Hematologist/Oncologist Dr. Bruce Cheson to the community oncology practice. Dr. Cheson is seeing patients at the Bethesda location. 

Dr. Cheson earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia Hospital and his clinical and research fellowship at New England Medical Center Hospital. He is Board certified in hematology and internal medicine.
